Thank you to everyone who bought tickets and came to Queen of the Decks our dance party fundraiser at The Printworks on 17 January. It was such a joy to be surrounded by so many smiling, happy faces loving the great music and company. A big shout out to all the DJ’s for donating their time and tunes and The Printworks for hosting us so generously. We are happy to have raised over £800 to put towards our International Women’s Day festival at the Observer Building on the 8 March.
Simultaneously we want to show our gratitude to Groundworks whose People’s Postcode Lottery Grassroots Grant of £2000 will enable us to cover our core running costs for a year. Keeping Women’s Voice going not only requires all our hours of voluntary work, it also needs digital, insurance and legal services to be visible and survive. What a weight off!
Finally thank you to The Chalk Cliff Trust who with the support of The Fundraisers have given us a grant of £5000 which will allow the festival to go ahead and launch our new peer support group for neurodivergent women. The rest of their grant will go towards time for us to develop our strategy for a longer term and more sustainable funding model going forward. See you at our next event.
