We’re pleased to share a summary of the findings of our recent research project, Working with People and Communities: Women’s Experiences of, and Hopes for, Women’s Health Hubs. Funded by NHS Sussex, the study gathered insights from 92 women in Hastings and St Leonards through surveys, focus groups, and interviews.

The research highlights a clear call for inclusive, accessible, and holistic women’s health services. Participants shared a strong vision for welcoming, non-clinical spaces that prioritise empathy, trust, and continuity of care—spaces that support not only physical health, but emotional and social wellbeing too.

Key recommendations include improving awareness, removing barriers to access, and embedding inclusivity and sustainability into service design. This community-informed report offers a meaningful roadmap for developing health hubs that reflect women’s lived experiences and needs.

The full report will be available on our website shortly. Thank you to everyone in the local community who took part and shared their views and experiences.
